An impressive suite of World maps by Nicolas Sanson 1600-1699. The maps include much colour and are very attractive. The extensive maps of all parts of the world indicate the state of knowledge at the end of the 17th century. The maps of North  America shows California as an Island. This error continued well int the 18th century. There are even 4 maps of Lituania.
